Hay Girl!
Imagine running your day instead of your day running you—where your to-do list doesn’t feel overwhelming, and you actually have time for what matters most. That’s the power of time blocking! When you are intentional about structuring your day with purpose, you not only produce productivity but also create space for your faith, family, and the work God has called you to do. It’s not about cramming more into your schedule—it’s about aligning your time with your values.
Time blocking is more than a planner technique—it’s a mindset. It’s saying “yes” on purpose and “no” with confidence. Start by identifying your top priorities and the roles you carry (like mama, wife, business owner, ministry leader, etc.). Then, break your day into blocks of time where you focus on one major thing at a time. Here’s an example of what a purpose-filled day might look like:
6:00 AM – 8:00 AM: Morning routine (devotion, prayer, journaling, movement, breakfast)
8:00 AM – 11:00 AM: Deep work / Creative time (writing, content creation, planning, strategy)
11:00 AM – 1:00 PM: Admin & communication (emails, business tasks, follow-ups, prep)
1:00 PM – 2:00 PM: Lunch & rest (eat, go for a walk, breathe!)
2:00 PM – 4:00 PM: Errands / Client calls / Personal tasks
4:00 PM – 8:00 PM: Family time, dinner, downtime, connection
8:00 PM – 9:30 PM: Wind-down, review day, reset for tomorrow
This doesn’t have to be rigid—it’s your rhythm, not a rulebook. Time blocking works because it puts you in the driver’s seat. It allows you to intentionally plug in what matters most, instead of reacting to everything that pops up. You’ll be amazed how much lighter you feel when your day has structure and breathing room at the same time.
