Your Perception is Everything! Check The Glass.

Are you looking at your life through a “glass half empty” or “glass half full” lens? Your perception of a situation doesn’t just influence how you feel—it can completely shape how you show up, how you grow, and how you trust God in the process. During seasons of transition—like career shifts, relationship changes, or personal growth—it’s easy to let fear or disappointment cloud our view. But the key to breakthrough often starts with a mindset shift.

Why Perspective Matters in Transition:
Most transitions start with excitement. But when things take longer than expected or challenges arise, we may find ourselves battling doubt, fear, or even regret. As a coach, I’ve walked with many through these “middle places,” and one thing is always true: the way you see your situation can either propel you forward or hold you back. When we perceive our waiting season as wasted time, we miss the powerful preparation God is doing behind the scenes.

3 Ways to Shift Your Perspective (Painted On Purpose Style):

  1. Pause and Reflect with Gratitude
Take 5 intentional minutes at the end of each day to ask:
  • What was one moment I saw God today?
  • What’s something small I’m thankful for?
Practicing daily gratitude realigns your perspective from lack to abundance. It doesn’t dismiss your struggle—it gives your soul something solid to stand on.
  1. Reframe the Questions You’re Asking
Instead of “Why is nothing changing?” try:
  • What is this season trying to teach me?
  • How is this building my resilience, character, or purpose?
These empowering questions help you shift from victimhood to vision. When you reframe the questions, you reclaim your power to grow, reflect, and move forward.
  1. Declare God’s Truth Out Loud
Your words shape your world. Start each day by declaring a promise of God that speaks to your situation. For example:
  • “I am being prepared, not punished.”
  • “God finishes what He starts in me.”
Even just 30 seconds of life-affirming truth in the morning can help silence doubt and center your spirit for the day ahead.
