"Cast your burden on the Lord, And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved." Psalm 55:22
Most mornings, I get up and spend at least 15 minutes with Jesus. Many times, I get the opportunity to worship but other times, my heart is full of sorrow for the troubles around me and the people I love so dearly. It doesn't surprise God but rather, creates a healthy space for me to share my burdens with Him.
This little time I dedicate in the mornings, holds such richness in my communication and relationship with God. I find that it's the very thing I need in order to have strength for the day. No matter how strong I think I am, God is constantly reminding me of how much I need Him everyday. When my heart is heavy and the weights of life pull me down, this is where I get to exchange my sorrows for joy. This is what I call "The Healthy Exchange".
Jesus knows us so well and nothing we go through or bring to Him, catches him off guard. Ashamed? God can handle that. Embarrassed? God can handle that. Worried or afraid? God can handle that. God can and will handle what you carry and he won't judge you for what you struggle with. His love for you is too great and it has no limits. As you go through the hard parts of life and the roller coaster of emotions, give yourself permission to sit at the feet of Jesus, and hand it over to Him.
Unlike the shifting world, God stands firm and true to His word and promises. He says:
"Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand". Isaiah 41:10.
"And God shall supply all your need according to His riches and glory by Christ Jesus". Philippians 4:19.
"And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body, and be thankful". Colossians 3:15.
What an incredible God we serve! No person on this Earth, can promise and fulfill what God can therefore, putting your full heart and trust in Him, is wise and powerful. Sometimes, we think God doesn't have time for the messy things we carry or he doesn't have time because there are bigger things going on in the world but truthfully, He's God and can handle it all! The most beautiful thing about God, is that he actually takes delight in every detail of your life. Every part of you, is important to God. He doesn't care how big or small you think things are. He doesn't care how much it bothers you or how much you come to Him about it- He cares.
Walk Away Points: God cares for you. God takes delight in the details of your life. Everything you feel, go through or struggle with, matters to God. He's ready to meet you and exchange your sorrows for His joy and peace.
Affirmation Today: In the midst of any trial I may face, my God is with me; My God is for me; My God will sustain me. I don't have to worry or be afraid of anything. The impossible is always possible for God.
Prayer from the Heart: Father, today I come before you with my worries and concerns and the things that feel completely out of control around me. I surrender and hand it all over you to you. I exchange my struggles for your peace and I leave it there gladly. Amen.
